BEY GOOD.

Beyoncé is giving back to the city of Houston in a major way! When she’s not shutting down arena’s, the Houston native is off being a queen philanthropist.

Back in June, Mrs. Carter reportedly donated half a million dollars to Chime For Change – a global global campaign created to help strengthen and unite the voices of young women around the world by inspiring them with “powerful stories” about inspiring women, however, she didn’t stop there.

Recently, Queen Bey dropped $7 Million to build a housing complex to the homeless men, women, and children of Houston.

“Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments” has space available for 43 individuals, and houses men and women who otherwise would likely be homeless. The facility supports its residents by providing meals, job readiness training, HIV/AIDS screenings and case management services, with an overall goal for residents to reach full self-sufficiency.

Here are a few quotes from Beyoncé on what giving back means to her.

Her secret passion:

“I watched my parents get involved in [community charities], and that taught me how important it is to ‘give ’til it hurts.’ I saw how happy you could make people, whether just giving someone a hug, having a conversation or spending some time, and it became a part of me. I’ve realized that sometimes it helps a cause more if I talk publicly about it. That’s what increases awareness.” —

“Think about what truly touches you and motivates you to help, then start locally. Once it’s in your heart to give, you’ll have to follow through. I am a happy woman—very happy—because I know that I’ve worked hard, and I love being able to give back.”
